Well, hello! It's been a while, and oh how I've missed this, and all of you. Life does get complicated sometimes, doesn't it?
[Personal details redacted]
It isn't all doom and gloom though. I had the day off yesterday so I decided to spend it restoring my soul. I put some bark in the dye pot (full of snow), and started some stitches on a stone.
I gave Goose a bath (with a snack! Lucky duck!) and chuckled as he nonchalantly groomed himself in the living room while Charlie and Blackjack looked on like peeping toms.
Today I'll work on that stone a little more and get out to the woods to enjoy some of this above-zero weather. Maybe I'll get a peek at the flying squirrels that have made a home by our basement window. I'll fill up the bird feeder for them to steal from, just in case they're sick of the popcorn we've been offering. I'll probably do some laundry, and I'll definitely cuddle the kids, and generally enjoy my time here at home while working on that footing thing.
Warmest wishes to each of you. Enjoy your weekend.

I always feel calmer after I read your posts. I adore your goose i live in a condo and try to figure out where i can hide one!!
Life is hard! I always had to work, all my life, and try to make the things I love in my free time, no matter how much that free time is! The most important thing is health and the restoration of it for your husband. I am wishing you all the best!AriadnefromGreece!
Lisa,
Love your blog as a fellow WI/MN gal myself now relocated to Central NY. I have also ordered from you and find your work grounded and beautiful. I do want to send words your way that life has seasons as well. I know from my husband's research that the happiest people are the most flexible to what each season brings. You are doing what is needed for your family and will adjust with your artistic work ready and waiting for your return. Your readers will be here as well.
Good thoughts your way.

We have missed you, but know how important your 'real' life is. I'm glad you're getting the chance to create. It is often that which grounds us and helps us think through our situations. I hope you get lots of opportunities and that your husband will be better soon.

i hope you feel restored this weekend. bathing a duck!! that is hilarious!
with your talent and skills I'd have thought you have all the raw materials to start your own business...not just selling your wares but holding workshops, teaching...holding a tv slot.writing articles,books...do local schools pay for master classes?
Maybe explore while you carry on working..xx Lx
For many years I was the bread winner in our household and felt as if I was cheating our kids out of something. My mother always said you do what you have to as a couple and each support the other at different times. You will find your way because you are very talented and those talents will come out in other ways as you start this chapter in your life. Your family is in my prayers! Momma also said this to will pass! Try to enjoy it as a new adventure!
Sending warm wishes and thoughts your way that your path will soon smooth out...and of course that your husband will be fit as a fiddle soon. Take care and know how many of your readers are thinking about you and your family and are sending caring thoughts your way. And...do not forget how we so admire the beauty that you create.
It's nice to hear from you again. I hope you find that footing: realising you are doing what must be done for your husband and family must surely help somewhat.
And I love that picture of the stone-in-progress: it makes me smile.
Thank you.
I think every household needs a Goose!
I do hope that your equilibrium and your husbands health are soon both restored x
Sorry you are having a bumpy ride right now but, keep at it and it will all work out. Keep your dreams in mind and maybe they will come trur.
Sincerely hoping Hubbys' health picks up soon.

Hi Lisa-so happy you had some time to do some blogging today-we missyou! My friends think I am foolish for bringing my duck inside-ha-guess i am not the only one who does it! Gotta love the ducks! I hope your husband will be better soon. There are always brighter days ahead-Goose Will help you waddle through the gray days!( he is super cute)
I haven't been able to work for a while, so I am seeing this from a different angle. I imagine how awful it is for your hubby to stay home and watch you go. I would so love to go out and work!! Not being able to is really hard! I hope he isn't stuffing "man" thinking!
You KNOW my heart bleeds for you as a Mom and an Artist!! I think of you a lot and send good vibes and prayers and hope to you each time!!
I have faith! You are Super Lisa!! You will be just fine...

The bathing duck is so precious! Wishing you well, and lots of cuddle time with the kiddos, dear Lisa.

I agree with Lynne in that you could make a very good living from your art.
It is an uncertain way to make a living, but you would succeed and would be so much better for your soul.
My best wishes for you all!
Ah, Lisa, I hope you find your footing...and I'm praying your husband is better soon....Thank you for taking some time to share a post...!
I. Remember it took me more than a few months when I started back to work full time but eventually I did get better at finding a balance and creating in ,little bits of time. I think I'm like you. I need to get out into nature to feel whole.
I'm glad you have had a little time to enjoy what you do. The duck is so cute. I had a laugh at the other two looking on with seeming distaste!
My prayers for your husband's complete and speedy recovery. I can imagine how hard this time is for you, especially with the brutal winter we've had this year. The warmer temps this weekend have been so uplifting. I'm glad you had time to go into the woods and do your artwork. All the best to you and your family.
Oh honey, sorry to hear that you sad and tired! I'm sure you will used to new situation too and you will find new strenght inside you! Keep my fingers crossed for your husband and you - wverything will be ok I'm sure!
