7 gazillion french knots later, I have completed the pond scum bracelet.
Of course I couldn't stop with just one small area of stitches, I wound them all the way around the piece.
I dig it. Though I'm sending this off to a show, I would be just as happy to keep this one for myself.
wow. just wow. i'm in awe of your french knots. once i'm about 6 or 7 in, i get a big, mangled, tangled one. oddly tho', i love them anyway. yours are just so fine and perfect. pond scum rocks.

Whoa - don't blame you for wanting to keep this one. Didn't realize you had gone all the way around. It's really beautiful! I just can't imagine doing all those French knots on something felted like that. But you are the master at it. :-)

Gorgeous Lisa! It does remind a person of the fine vegetation that grows along ponds and lakes. Aaah... many fond fishing memories... This is a fantastic piece and showcases your work perfectly. It is so wonderfully earthy... LOVE IT!!

ReplyDeleteIt's perfect...and pond scum is a great name. I can't believe your patience though working in all those french knots. Do you use a special needle to make these? How do you get around the rock (since you can't go through it)? It's like magic.
