I do this, too. ...You know, you are exactly right. I do this, too. I don't have a sketchbook full of designs to be worked as that is too contrived for me. Like you, I start with a stone or bits of metal and let the metal tell me what it wants to be. It just develops from there. Sometimes not so much but if I just let it flow, good results. Not a fan of calibrated stones or earrings that match.<br /><br />I used to feel bad when other artists talked about their design process and what inspired them but I gave up caring.
