We had quite a storm move through here; complete with a tornado warning and funnel cloud, but the red sky tells me that tomorrow will bring better weather.
"red sky in morning, sailor's warning
red sky at night, sailor's delight"
Wishing you all a delightful day.
Peace.

oh funny, I've always known it the other way around, and with a shepherd, not a sailor!
Red sky at night; shepherds delight,
Red sky in the morning; shepherds warning.
hope it's a glorious one!
Wish you a delightful day. Pretty red sky scene.
C'est vraiment magnifique, belle journée également, bises
I like the puddle pic, very cute and it actually turned out well! Be careful of those storms and send us a bit of rain, my rain barrel is rather empty these days.
Thank you all so much!
Bonkers - I've never heard the version with shepherd, but I like it.
R - Thanks! That puddle is actually my yard. We got a lot of rain in a short amount of time.
Thought about you last night when I saw the weather map! We were in Salina where the temps were 104 and 106. Salina = Sauna
Glad it passed by without damage, Lisa.
As I child, I was taught the shepherd's version of the red sky weather-lore rhyme, and in that order too; I'd say that the words fall better on the ear with 'red sky at night' at the beginning, but who knows.
Shepherds and sailors must have been equally and pressingly interested in the weather, and the rhyme offers a a surprisingly accurate meteorological ready reckoner - when I sailed a lot (about 20 years ago) I used it all the time.
Lynn - 106, ugh!!
Eirlys - you sailed? You are one interesting woman.
I love red sky, it looks mysterious.
Beautiful pictures!
I'm originally from the coast of Massachusetts and I learned it as
Red sky at night
sailor's delight.
Red sky in the morning
sailor take warning.

Beautiful photos, Lisa. There is something magical about a red sky at night.
