The other morning Jack Frost had worked his magic on our kitchen window. I noticed it as I was pouring my coffee and thought, "hmm, frost". When my daughter noticed it she burst into laughter and said "silly chickens! feathers on the window!". She was certain that the chickens were having some shenanigans, and sure enough when I looked at it again, I saw feathers too.

a lovely description, we've had our first proper frosts of the winter this weekend and my 6yo was fascinated by all the little spicules of ice growing out the grasses and cow parsley and just how hard frozen soil could be.
I took pictures of the frost on our windows this morning too!

Children do have the best insight, imagination, and viewpoint sometimes. I for one have never experienced frost feathers like that, simply amazing!
This is one of the intriguing talents of Mother Nature. It seems like there is a conscious artist who's doing these beautiful designs all around us. Just thinking of the wonderful designs we find on shells, fish, butterfly wings and so much more, we just can't think it's only a coincidence.
