inside

This past week has been a little different than I anticipated when I said I'd be taking some time to enjoy the transition from summer to autumn.  Everything is mostly fine now but we had a health scare for one of my family members that has me thinking about my perspective on a lot of things.  The reality of an ambulance ride and ER visit, and a week of adjustment to medications has taken up a huge amount of my time and focus.

Things are smoother now, I feel more calm.  I picked up my camera this morning for the first time in almost two weeks, ready to see things again.  I finished packing up acorn orders that were supposed to go out on Monday, (I'm so sorry, everyone, for the delay), I'm getting to those tomatoes I wanted to can, and feeling the urge to work on new projects, but also feeling a new sense of responsibility.

Changes are on the horizon and I'm going to make the best of them.

But enough of that for now.  Did you recognize that the first photo up there was an acorn that had been cut open?  It looks like a flower to me.  I'm sure there's a metaphor there about pretty flowers inside of every nut, but I haven't had enough coffee yet to figure it out.

Happy Wednesday everyone, and happy healthy thoughts to you.

Oh dear! Hope that scare is all over now. Good things will come out of the experience I'm sure.

I thought that acorn was an embroidery you'd done - though I couldn't quite fathom how you'd mounted it!

Lisa,

Hope all is well at your home now. Health scares are not fun at all.

You have again taught the naturalist something new. I have never see an acorn cut like that. It is indeed very beautiful. New discoveries are what keep my chosen profession interesting. Thanks!

Take care,
Pauline

Yes, perspective...
your photo is a great illustration. Now I see it as the acorn that it is
but originally i saw it as a very old, dried out orange with its top cut off.
Best wishes and prayers for healing from my heart for your family, Lisa.

This nut see flowers wherever she goes!

Heaps of blessings for you and your family in the adjusting days to come. May flowers of peace and joy come from even the toughest nut cases we encounter (I've only had half a cup of coffee so far, forgive my half baked, but sincere wishes for you!)

Wishing you extra strength in your new responsibilities, hope things are calmer now after the health scare. You are such an optimistic inspiration I hope you soon find your way through and begin enjoying all that natural beauty you show us so often. :) The squirrel is visiting our oak and sneaking all the acorns, lovely to watch him burying them in the garden and patting rhe grass back on top!

Yep! There's nothing like a health scare to make you sit up and think differently about life and your own mortality in general!
I find I'm not worrying so much about how much debt I have now as about how much life I might have!
(Re- Brother's recent Cancer diagnosis).
If I want to loaf about in my pj's I do, if I want to stay up most of the night and/or stay in bed late I do. Taking each day as it comes is so much more easier than worrying about things you can't do anything about.
Any how, I hope that things are settled and not giving you too much hassle now.

Blessings

Sandie xx

Sounds like you've had a lot to handle. Wish I was nearby for a hug and to help.
Glad you've found time to pick up the camera and I really hope you got more coffee.
Take care.

There's nothing like health issues to put everything in perspective. I hope you're starting to get on top of whatever it is.
I had no idea that's what the inside of an acorn looked like. Nature is so amazing!
