a ready return

Hello everyone!
I hope you've all had a good and healthy start to the new year.  I had a few days of "hermiting" after the busy-ness of the holidays, but now the cave door has been flung open and I'm ready to start this year in earnest.

Yesterday's mild weather beckoned me outside so I grabbed my camera, a brand new sketchbook, and Charlie and took a short walk around the yard.

It seemed that wherever I looked I saw something interesting; a strip of birch bark stuck on a twig, gem-like berries on a snowy stump, a grove of sporophytes, wrinkled mushrooms...

even a rainbow of fuzz, stuck on my clothesline.

I feel ready.  I don't know how else to explain it.  I feel ready to see things, do things, change things.  I'm not sure if that's a symptom of a new calendar year or something deeper, but I'm embracing it.

How about you?  Do you feel change stirring?  What do you think this year holds for you?  Do you have your baskets ready?

I'm loving your pictures, and hope to be inspired more along the way. Oh and what a great name for your dog - same as mine!

I get so burnt out during my 3 months of insanity that I seriously don't do much crafting till mid-March. I suppose that sounds anti-artsy/crafty but it my way of recouping and regaining perspective which is a big deal for me. So no changes yet, just going to do projects I've wanted to finish for a while now and make time for "me".

I can echo your feelings. I am ready to get going too. Part of it is the newness of January, but also my natural need for change.

I am almost finished sewing felt wings for a slingshot toy pig. It's going to be very cute! I am in love. 8*)

I am concentrating on felt and sewing until I get all my Christmas IOUs finished! Then more wood carving and knitting IOUs. The knitting IOUs are very weighty. I knit too slow.

Looks grim for 2012. I hope it gets better as the projects get completed! Here's to completion! My new mantra? 8*)
