a dancing peony

My youngest turns 4 today.
The only girl, a blur of pink in the wild pack that runs through the house.

She loves to dance and twirl so I made her a proper fairy costume out of silk I dyed with lobster mushrooms, complete with wand.  She looks like a dancing peony.

And she discovers that she can jab people with her fairy wand in 3,2,1...

Later we'll have pink cake and lots of snacks, and cuddles on the couch while we wait for Santa to arrive.

I hope you all enjoy this day too.

What a precious little fairy! Belated Happy Birthday and a Merry Christmas, too! This reminds me of my grandaughter when she was three. I gave her a sparkly fairy wand to play with. It wasn't very long until she handed it back to me, saying "It doesn't work, Grandma!!"
