I worked on a project yesterday, a self-portrait for an upcoming show at the gallery at work.
It's been years, like years and years, since I've done any kind of self-portrait.
I'm not sure yet how I'll continue with this piece and I'm curious to see how it will turn out.
She looks a little sad, perhaps because I needled her face and then tried to drown her with soap and water. Just part of the process, darling.
Today it's back to work as normal so this will have to wait for now. I'll be twice as eager to return to it knowing it will be a week or more before I have this kind of me time. Me time. Ha.

This is a very intriguing start and unique support for a self portrait. It looks great so far. Love the mix of colors along the edges.
Self portraits can be tough on so many levels. I've only attempted one, but it is interesting how much of my relations that I could see in my features. It was very revealing of my heritage on a personal level. Characteristics that I had never realized on a day to day basis.
I am excited to watch your portrait progress! :)

She is beautiful. YOU are beautiful, even though you think she looks a little sad so far.
You are particularly gifted, I couldn't by any mean be able to stitch or draw a self portrait. It's not everyone's skill !!!!

Gosh, you nailed it, Lisa. Really amazing.
She looks true & beautiful! I'm very impressed with your ability to create fine lines with felting. When I did some recent self-portraitish watercoloring I felt I was making more of what I felt &/or wanted to see in the mirror.
