Because left to their own devices, my kids do things like this with cans from the recycling.
Yep, that's a piñata. And a lot of masking tape.
Complete with prizes!
Post-piñata power pose.
I honestly don't know if this affirms my belief that my kids don't need more toys or is evidence that they do...

HA HA HA....I love your last line. No comment. But I love your kids.
They don't need more toys I think. Not that I think they have tons of them, but their imagination is their best tool ! You go, the Jordan kids !! Love xoxo
Making your own does support the inventive imagination - that is good in my opinion. But imagination is part of play either way!
A good imagination is never a waste, in my opinion. Less toys = a more creative mind. My Dad still tells us the story of how when he grew up he had a rock, a stick and a three wheeled car to play with. Best. Childhood. Ever.
He is a liar, however. My grandma never threw a thing away and we would ask where his rock, stick, and three wheeled car were and she would give us a puzzled look. Mmmm hmmmm.... Right, Dad. Toybox FULL of toys.
I hope its evidence that when they are 20, they will NOT always have their noses glued to screens.... thank GOD!
Less toys more cans, tape and imagination ... Love it!
