Hens are not machines, and sometimes they don't lay "standard". On the Big Waste documentary they featured a chicken farm, and explained that the eggs that don't fit the standard carton get destroyed. The tiny eggs rattle inside, the large ones (most likely double-yoked) don't fit. Terrible!
