a smiling turtle

Thank you so much for your kind comments after yesterday's blog post.  Parenting is without a doubt the most difficult job I've ever done and I don't always feel like I'm doing it right, and often probably am not doing it right, but it made my heart much lighter reading your words of support.

There will be more tough days ahead, of that I'm sure, but we're taking it one day at a time.  Strong and steady like the turtle.

After our talk, my boy wanted to make an ornament for the tree out of wool.  He needle-felted it first, then together we wet-felted it.  He included the important details like toenails and my favorite...a smile.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Each child needs a different approach to reach and fulfill their needs for love and understanding. As long as they feel loved they feel important and safe. I can tell by the way you "talk" about your children they all receive a very special kind of love. Don't worry, it may not seem so today or tomorrow but one day that little soul with be an adult and come say Thank you Mom for being the kind of parent you are.

This is soooo sweet!
Your son seems to be a boy, who thinks about many things-toe nails and the benefits of taking your home with you... Even if he is difficult in school, I'm sure, he is a great boy.

Parenting is tough, there is always a little string from your heart that is attached to your child, sometimes it pulls hard, and sometimes it twangs fit to bursting with joy. You are doing a good job there, I'd come and join in anyday, it always looks such fun! :)
