7 gazillion french knots later, I have completed the pond scum bracelet.
Of course I couldn't stop with just one small area of stitches, I wound them all the way around the piece.
I dig it. Though I'm sending this off to a show, I would be just as happy to keep this one for myself.

wow. just wow. i'm in awe of your french knots. once i'm about 6 or 7 in, i get a big, mangled, tangled one. oddly tho', i love them anyway. yours are just so fine and perfect. pond scum rocks.
It is beautiful Lisa!!
Oh *do* please quit calling it "pond scum," Lisa. :) I know it was originally called that with loving humor but it is far too lovely to retain such a shudder-inducing descriptor.
Oh no, I like "pond scum bracelet" :)
And it looks really lovely; I live the colours and the shapes. You must have some patience though!

Well, just ... wow. French knots & I are not good friends. You are clearly the master of French knots, I would have screamed after embroidering so many of them ! LOL
Well done, sweet girl !

Whoa - don't blame you for wanting to keep this one. Didn't realize you had gone all the way around. It's really beautiful! I just can't imagine doing all those French knots on something felted like that. But you are the master at it. :-)

Gorgeous Lisa! It does remind a person of the fine vegetation that grows along ponds and lakes. Aaah... many fond fishing memories... This is a fantastic piece and showcases your work perfectly. It is so wonderfully earthy... LOVE IT!!
I'm amazed at your patience...just trying to imagine what else you are doing while knotting all those nasty frenchies....listening to your children? watching soap opera? waiting for your hubby to make dinner?
Just can't picture it.
I also can't picture how you do the knots over a bracelet...or a rock.
It is lovely and I can understand you wanting to keep it for yourself.
It's perfect...and pond scum is a great name. I can't believe your patience though working in all those french knots. Do you use a special needle to make these? How do you get around the rock (since you can't go through it)? It's like magic.
'Pond Scum' certainly got my attention! Lovely work.
Cheers,
Joa.
I hope you get it back again from the show, you deserve this beauty! GORGEOUS!!!
