Meringue Mushrooms

I am in love.

As if I weren't addicted to mushrooms as it was, now I've found a recipe for mushroom sweets!  I made these up last night and I thought they were super easy to make.  I used this recipe.  I wasn't sure what size to make the caps and stems so I decided to just wing it and make an assortment and they all turned out great.  The next time I make them, I'll make the stems a bit larger but I'm happy with my first attempt.

And seriously, how cute are these?!

Another busy day here, I have 7 kids on hand so I'm going to be doing some art projects to keep them busy.  I'm feeling rather glad that hubby picked up a bottle of wine yesterday because I suspect that I'll need some at the end of the day.  :)

Happy Friday everyone!

Those are beautiful! I've never had meringue before. But I'm not sure I could bring myself to eat such lovely little mushrooms. (:

The mushrooms are adorable. Don't think I've seen them with the chocolate gills. I've always been afraid to attempt these but maybe this year I'll give them a try.

My hero Jacques Pepin made a Buche de Noel (a Yule log) which he decorated with meringue mushrooms, first time I ever saw them. Given your love of the forest, that would be an awesome dessert to try. And if Jacques Pepin made it, it is not very complicated.

I watched an episode of Top Chef Masters where another one of my chef heroes, Hubert Keller, had to make a dessert for Girl Scouts. He won by making meringue swans. What girl would not fall for that?! This one sure did!

The mushrooms are amazing! Please tell me you didn't find time to blog with 7 kids in the house! Sounds like crazy but potentially fun times (as long as it's not for too long!)

I haven't made these in years... should think about it for the holidays when I have people around to eat them. :)

Yours look great!

Never seen these before, but am genuinely stunned by a) how fab they look, and b) how much I want to make/eat them! Thanks for the inspiration.

LOVE your mushrooms ! When people ask your children what's your job, do they answer you're a magician ?

Seven kids ... three possibilities : drink the while bottle, give each of them a drop of wine or change them into mushrooms :D Sorry sweet kids, I'm a silly girl !
