Weathery Wednesday

Look what mother nature delivered us yesterday.  We were in the epicenter of a bomb cyclogenisis, or what they're calling a land hurricane yesterday.  It amounted to a lot of wind, rain, and as you can see, snow.

This is my driveway.  Guess I'm not going anywhere today.  There are 5 pines down, 4 of which were torn up by their root balls.

Today's view from the mailbox.

Today will be spent hauling and cutting trees, stoking the wood stove, and preparing for the possible flood in my basement from the past few days of precipitation.  Good times.  Good times.

I had planned to do a little shop update this week but I think it may have to be pushed back a bit.  More on that later.

I hope you all have a warm and cozy Wednesday.

Best of luck Lisa! I would rather have your weather than what we had yesterday. We were on the opposite end of the storm and got all the severe weather aka straight line winds and tornadoes.

I'd much rather the snow.

Holy Shite!!!

Ohhhh....I. am. NOT. looking forward to this winter. I lost power three times last winter, two of them being really brutal with rescuing an elderly, to boot. I was just relishing the Fall and how mild the temp is right now. Your photos made me realize, 'THAT' will be coming soon.

Hope you are keeping warm and safe.

Stay warm. I heard about that storm from the in-law's up in Longville and about the one in Fargo from my BIL. He said he is ready to move out here. :)

I was just watching the weather and saw that snow was in your vicinity but this is a surprise. Wish I could be there to help, girlfriend. You've got a full plate for the next couple of days while we just have to endure the endless howling wind.

Oh my! What a nightmare! I wish you look with the pine trees and hope that all the snow melts soon. Am sending good thoughts for no flooding in the basement.....

Wow, we won't get snow for a while yet. Once the leaves fall though I'm ready, I love how snow brightens every thing up. I'm just glad I work from home so I don't have to go out in it.

Wow. You win! I'll quit whining about the wind and the temperature drop, at least there is no snow or ice yet, and none of my trees are uprooted! This was an awful storm to be on either end of, wasn't it?
I hate to see all the leaves disappear in one big blowfest.
Stay warm!

In college I had a professor from Minnesota. He said that the first year he spent in CA he took pictures of himself having Christmas brunch on the patio. His family refused to talk to him for weeks. Now I can see why! Good luck!

Gives a new meaning to the season of Fall! Praying your basement stays dry and no one gets hurt in the clean up process. Guess you'll have to make your own fungi for the rest of this year!

I saw that spot of snow on the radar, but assumed it would be just a dusting. Not so much, huh? Geez, with the wind this must've been quite an event to watch. I hope you guys have help moving the trees and that it goes quickly. Keep the woodstove fed and I'm sealing up your basement with my mind :)

Seeing this snow is bringing mixed feelings to me. On the one hand, winter is my least favorite time of year; I get depressed, it's way too cold, I hardly get outside. On the other though, it makes me kind of excited for X-mas lights and red noses and snuggling!

Wow! That's some real weather. Just think how well stocked you'll be with wood. I'm sure you'll find other benefits from that wicked storm too, that's just the way you are :)

Joanie is right, I know you'll make the most of this weather, that's what you usually do. I do understand that having this kind of weather half of the year can get a tad (ironic) annoying. Good luck my friend. I hope you had had my email (well it was a convo) last weekend. xoxoxo hugs
