campfire contemplation

A nice weekend was had under the poplar and pine.  Nothing fancy, just your ordinary weekend though we did make some time for a fire and s'mores.

I sort of bliss out around a fire.  Sit and stare, feeling contemplative.

I used to do a lot of camping and backpacking in my pre-grown-up life, and time around the fire was spent sipping blackberry brandy and having deep conversations about life.  Now it's s'mores and answering rapid-fire "why" and "what" and "how" questions from my wee ones.

Until they get blissed out and contemplative watching the sparks climb the sky.
